The LISE CHARMEL Company was founded in 1950s in Lyon, the second largest city in France, historically recognized as the “Capital City of Silk”. The original company location was down in the historical quarter of the silk weavers, called "Croix-Rousse", then a center of the art craft and textile. It was the destination number one for customers and rich peopled from all over Europe seeking quality and luxury goods.

Originally an expert in bra manufacturing, it soon developed an up-market positioning with designs for all types of lingerie and corsetry. The manufacturing of the pushing up bra, the half-cup (demi, or balconette) bra and the full-cup bra remain the exclusive specialty of LISE CHARMEL up until today.

The name “LISE CHARMEL” originated from a love story. The name “Charmel” came from the "charm" which is associated with underwear in general. The brand founder added the first name of his beloved “Lise” in front of it as a proof of love and admiration, so that she could not turn down his marriage proposal. Hence, “LISE CHARMEL” lingerie brand was born.

In 1975, the company was purchased by Jacques Daumal. With the highly creative and technically advanced nature of its products, the LISE CHARMEL brand established its market presence and has now secured a leading position in the world of women's intimate apparel.

The Lise Charmel began by building its identity on the introduction and use of fashion colors, sharp and close to loan-with-carrying. High creativity, selection of bold fabrics and expertise in corsetiere, were keys to success to this famous house.

In 1985 - 1987 LISE CHARMEL developed a new style and raised its quality standards by restructuring its technology and expanding its distribution network to 42 countries in the world. LISE CHARMEL lingerie has developed a devoted clientele all around the world, the fashion-conscious, elegant women with the highest requirements for fit and quality!

In 1998 the company has expanded its lingerie assortment from the feminine and elegant woman during the day and sophisticated and flirtatious woman at night.

In 1999 the swim fashion and casual fashion collections were launched.

Most recently, Lise Charmel Group has launched Eprise, a very distinctive line of lingerie for the woman lingerie sizes up to 4X and bras sizes up to 44F, without compromising on style or fabric.

Today, the Lise Charmel Group encompasses four brands.
