Simone Pérèle
1905 - May 12, 1985
The legend begins in a warmly-lit workshop in 1948, rue de Montyon in Paris: The daughter of an expert corset-maker, Madame Simone Pérèle grew up with a natural understanding of a woman’s body and its movements. Truly avant-garde for her time, she envisioned modern women as they are today: active, confident and independent.
With this in mind, she sought to create high-quality handcrafted lingerie that combined design with comfort and well-being. A confident, determined and passionate French woman, Madame Pérèle followed her instincts. So begins the legend of a lingerie concept that anticipated the 21st century.
Upon the opening of her small workshop and boutique, Madame Pérèle’s lingerie was immediately popular among Parisian women. The lingerie of this time was uncomfortable, with “Brigitte Bardot-style darts” projecting an unnatural bustline. Using her expertise in corsetry, Madame Pérèle created new designs that unlocked the mystery of feminine lingerie and eventually freed women’s bodies from constrictive corsets.
In 1970, she designed “Petale”, the first “second skin” lingerie made of high quality Lycra. With a smooth finish and horizontal seaming, “Petale” surpassed tradition and became the model for many more lingerie collections to come. Madame Pérèle’s designs were handcrafted for perfect comfort that moved with, not against, women’s curves and contours. She believed that women’s bodies deserve to be touched by nothing less than the highest quality of lingerie.
Revolutionary for her time, Simone Pérèle created a line of lingerie for the active, independent woman who dares to be exquisitely sexy for her man, yes, but above all, for herself.

Catherine Pérèle

"When a women looks at herself in profile wearing a bra, her bust must go up - never down. A good bra is something you forget you are wearing; you don't feel the straps, there is no pain, your breasts must look round and natural." Catherine Pérèle
Simone Pérèle company is a family enterprise. Catherine Pérèle is Simone Pérèle's daughter who succeeded her and expressed the same passion as her mother. Catherine Pérèle’s office resembles her: warm and familiar. It is the company’s smallest office - her choice to better integrate her team. Cluttered with notes and sketches, but also with photos and objects given to her by her personnel, it expresses just how closely linked her private life and work life really are. The endearing refuge of a passionate woman who knows her clients, considers their comfort and truly respects them, just as her mother taught her.
