Oura Ring Tests New AI Model Tailored to Women's Health

Oura is developing a specialized artificial intelligence model focused on women's health, currently available for testing by a limited group of users. The feature, housed within the existing Oura Advisor chatbot, is designed to address topics like menstrual cycles, fertility, and menopause by combining user data from the Oura Ring with a curated library of clinical research.

The company calls this a "fundamental shift" in its approach. "Women’s health is too complex—and too often overlooked—to rely on one-size-fits-all systems," said Ricky Bloomfield, Oura's chief medical officer. He stated the model is grounded in clinical science and individual biometric data to provide personalized, evidence-based responses.

In practice, the tool aims to offer supportive guidance and help users prepare for discussions with their doctors. For instance, if a user asks about sudden cycle changes, the AI can explain typical patterns, highlight relevant data from the ring, and suggest points to raise with a healthcare provider.

Privacy remains a central claim. Oura says it uses "private AI," processing insights directly on a user's device. The company asserts it does not sell or rent health data and requires consent to share sensitive information. The experimental feature is optional within the Oura Labs section, and users can withdraw at any time. A broader release date has not been announced.
